The Sound the Sun Makes

White noise from the white light
the music of the sun.
It is a sound to employ, a sound
urging, from the Doppler
pattern of dark and light.

It is the steady cadence of
industrial din a reaching tone
a throaty song, the Hindu Om
from the breath of God.
Light exhaling from an unblinking face.

The sound of a heartbeat instance,
the muted chant in dreams,
the unfilled distance of lovers,
or that pause at first glance.
But it is, at last, only our human pretense.
