The Movie That Changed My Life
I don’t remember the director’s name,
or for that matter, the title. Surely, Technicolor
images enhanced the screen, but black and white
cinema verite remains a vague possibility.
Subtitles, flashing across the bottom of the screen,
inspired me to take a speed reading course,
but the movie may have been in English.
I really don’t recall.
The sound track indelibly imprinted my memory,
though no particular song comes to mind,
only the distant ringing of bells and whistles
during the animated erotic love scene
which I’m not sure took place,
causing the movie to be rated X or possibly PG.
I will never forget the movie that changed my life,
how in a darkened theater your hand firmly
caressed my knee and I turned to see your face,
in the flickering cinematic glow,
memorizing every detail of mine.
