The Fairy Queen

She is the dew at morning dawn
She quenches thirst of fae and fawn
Sustains the least of forest spawn
Awakens trees, their branches yawn

As sun is high she sits enthroned
Seat of ivy and precious stone
Ruling spirits and flesh and bone
Her justice fair and finely honed

Creatures journey from far and wide
To bask within the forest’s pride
That emanates from deep inside
The light she gives is not denied

The forest moves to make request
Until she speaks they will not rest
Daily they wait without regress
Ancient wisdom to be addressed

Spreading silken and frosted wing
She ascends and begins to sing
A song of lovers’ beauty rings
With voice so full of magic things

The song brings all to joyous tears
As it did in primeval years
Resonating through time so clear
Gifting any who lend an ear

The Fairy Queen pours out her song
Like the finest wine, sweet and strong
They drink it down in eager throngs
For its soothing warmth they have longed

As the sun sinks, the song will fade
Shadows rule the forest displayed
Dance in fae light, colors arrayed
Her song still glows in hearts betrayed

She is the moon that guards the night
She lights the path of crone and sprite
The Fairy Queen enrobed in white
She is a rare and lovely sight
