MAXI

(A lucky and very spoilt dog)
I was born I know not where and for now I do not care.
For I landed on my feet when I met my Mum and Pikey.
I’d been skittled by a car and they said I wasn’t far
From being off to doggy heaven, but my luck it changed by crikey,
When the Vet who patched me up, said I was a very lucky Pup
And introduced me to these folk, who I now call Mum and Pikey.
I’m the Boss of a beach house and the tuckers really grouse
And I fetch everything that’s thrown by my Mum and Pikey.
I chase seagulls on the beach, but they’re always out of reach
And I protect the house from baddies when I bark at them by crikey.
I chase possums in the night, but sometimes I get a fright.
So I sneak inside and into bed, with my Mum and Pikey.

Pikey.
