RACOONS IN THE RAFTERS

Bears in the back yard
and raccoons in the rafters
a ski slope outside my windows
and a river roars by

shaded by aspen and tall towering lodge poles
sun shining through
and a river roars by

out on the deck
there are pots of petunias
I sit at the window
watch the river roar by
